In the standard curve, the value of y (Ct) where the curve crosses the y-axis at x = 1 copy or 3.08 picogram DNA equivalent template. The y-intercept value corresponds to the Ct value for a single copy of the target molecule. The value around 40 indicates good sensitivity of the assay. Ct values greater than 40 are encountered if PCR efficiency is lower than 100%.
